The Boomerang App is now available for Apple iPhones and Droid operating systems. The App is for use by employees and displays the next 30 days of requested and confirmed shifts. Drag and Drop Feature
We have added a new Drag and Drop Edit Feature for EDITING
existing in place resources from existing shifts to new shifts.
Place your mouse pointer on the NAME of the person, click and DRAG to the new shift, placing the name IN THE GREEN BAR of the shift...the resource name drops into position in the new shift. reconfirm (c) as needed.

Text Messaging for Cancelled Shifts
Boomerang provides TEXT messaging for cancelled shifts. You can use this new feature to mange "flex up" shifts, "on call" shifts and other shift cancellations to manage your schedule to your census better.
First: Resources: edit your profile to include at least one text message capable phone, choose your wireless provider and update your account.
Second: Staffers: post and manage your contingency shifts: in this case primarily flex up or on call shifts for additional resource planning that may need to be quickly cancelled due to census drop
Staffers: when you decide to cancel this shift, click (x) to cancel and you will be shown a list of staff that are confirmed into that shift and their text message number ( if the staff member has entered the data): you can cancel all or some of the resources: they will receive a text message on their cell phone. New Feature For Boomerang: TEXT Messaging
We have added a new feature to Boomerang.... TEXT Messaging:
The path is as follows: Manage Personel> Phone List> you will see a check box to message ALL or some of your employees....make your selection and click "Send Text Message" this brings up a box for FREE TEXT ...insert your message and send. Resources must have 1 phone number, one selected text capable phone number ( from their listed) and one carrier selected. YES, we can add smaller carriers and if you just e-mail me with their name and technical support desk phone number ( or text message address, if you know it) we can get it on the list......not ALL providers provide the service....and we will do our best to get your add requests turned around asap.
There are several new features being released recently including many features created at the request of users.
The features are;
1) A printable phone list. This feature is found under manage personell, in the blue bar
2) A Cancel Reason Report. This report lists all the reasons a resource cancels out of a confirmed shift, or is cancelled by a facility. managers can report on sick call offs, floats to other units. This report is under the Lists and Reports header.
3) A printable, minimal schedule data view. This feature is found on the main page, drop down menu and is designed to help with a printable schedule. PLEASE keep in mind, that since schedules are operationalized on the web, "printed version" are outdated almost as quickly as it is printed. The current schedule data is always and only available on-line.
4) A bi-weekly rotating auto-scheduler. Please call the help desk to implement this feature. This feature allows automation of rotating weekends for example.
The features will begin soon on the Mountain time zone server, followed by Central, Eastern and finally Arizona.

Holiday Highlighter Feature
Holiday Highlighter Feature
There is a new Holiday Highlighter feature in Boomerang, designed to remind staff of a pending facility Holiday. The feature places a name tag on the day and a burgundy highlighted surround on the calendar.
Since holidays are facility specific, they must be activated by the admin in order to be highlighted on Boomerang.
Administrators: this function is found in: Manage Facility Information> Holidays
Once you designate a holiday, in the Holiday Table, the highlighter turns on.

Expired Credential Notification
Boomerang will now send a reminder e-mail to resources when their credential are about to expire. Boomerang gives an automated 30 day notice for expiration listed in the employee's manage personell file. A valid work or personal e-mail address must be present to send the reminder.

Managing Holidays in Advance
You can manage your holiday coverage well in advance of the actual holiday period. Be sure that your holidays are posted in your facility profile. You can post the holiday shifts at any time and fill them with resources according to your facility policies. Resources will see their holiday assignments. The auto scheduler will adjust for the posted holiday shifts during the scheduling period. All admins are aked to contact Brian at Boomerang support the first time you set this up.
